Film park
The Film Park is an integral part of the EDUCATIONAL CENTER project, an innovative center for cultural and film education, which will be located on the premises of WFDiF (Documentary and Feature Film Studios). This strategic investment includes the construction of a modern film space for various social groups.
The WFDiF investment will contribute to the creation of an innovative and unique place for cultural education, based on community engagement and initiatives, and consequently, will increase public involvement in cultural life. The project will result in socio-economic revival by improving the quality of public space, in line with the principles of spatial order and aesthetics, and promoting environmentally friendly solutions.

The main gate offers an artistic invitation to the world of cinema and the history of Polish cinematography. The architectural element will be a true artistic installation paying tribute to the origins of Polish film.
The gate marks the physical beginning of the Park, but it also symbolizes the embracing of knowledge, creativity, and film heritage. It is a gate to the world of imagination, where the history of cinema intersects with its present day and future.
-
A green space for recreation, meetings, and integration on the WFDiF premises
It will offer visitors permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as outdoor events, such as a summer cinema.
Illuminated displays will be placed throughout the Film Park, creating a permanent educational trail dedicated to the history of Polish cinema and the heritage of WFDiF. The exhibition will feature key moments of the studio's history – from the institution's founding, through the years of the Polish School of Documentary, to contemporary productions. Photographs from film sets, stills from the most famous feature and documentary films, as well as profiles of outstanding directors and cinematographers will be on display. Each one tells a unique story of the development of Polish filmmaking – from pioneering techniques to creative experiments.
-
Outdoor film activities
A visit to the Park is a journey through the various stages of film production. The educational trail named "How a Film is Made?" will guide visitors. Following that, one will first learn about the behind-the-scenes of script creation in one of the outdoor classrooms, where lessons and workshops will be held.
As part of the Film Park's extensive and creative educational trail, special boards for creating storyboards will also be prepared – one of the key stages of the filmmaking process, combining visual thinking with scripting.
-
Interactive installations
Interactive installations and educational devices will also be present in the Park. Visitors will be able to experiment with the camera obscura on their own, learning how this prototype of the modern camera works.
The next stage of the educational and film trail in the Park will be the creative zone, designed as a space for creative expression and practical learning about the filmmaker's work. There are specially prepared scenographic walls here that can serve a variety of functions – from backgrounds for test shots to surfaces for set design.
-
Stunt glade
Another place related to film professions is the "Stunt glade" – a space where children will spend time in a specially designed playground, offering climbing opportunities that develop agility and coordination of the youngest users of the Park.
-
Experimental zone
The zone will combine learning, fun, and modern technologies; inspiring visitors to create their own film stories—from the first set sketch, through casting, to recording a shot. The Film Park will be a place where everyone will feel part of the world of cinema and embark on their own cinematic adventure. It will be a true opportunity to experiment with perspective, framing, and visual narrative.
-
Open-air cinema
The heart of the Park will be an open-air cinema, which will host summer screenings of films for children and adults, including both classics and modern productions. Screenings will be held in a unique atmosphere, fostering a shared experience of the magic of open-air cinema.
The open-air cinema area in the Film Park has been designed with exceptional attention to audience comfort and the quality of the outdoor film presentation.
The auditorium of the open-air cinema area in the Film Park will be naturally integrated into the landscape, respecting the environment and the principles of sustainable design. Its form is similar to an amphitheater – a terraced arrangement of seats on wooden terraces, surrounded by a gently sloping earthen slope, creating an intimate, cozy space that helps to focus on the film.
-
Biodiversity in the Film Park
The Park surrounding the EDUCATIONAL CENTER will be a space where nature and the magic of cinema intertwine. Flowerbeds and trees will guide guests through the various stages of filmmaking, while geometric paths will reveal the green compositions separating the Park's various functions.
The plant composition will be chosen in a naturalistic style – free, diverse, changeable. Thanks to varied flowering periods, the flowerbeds will remain attractive throughout the growing season, constantly surprising with a riot of colors and textures.
The vegetable garden will be surrounded by willow screens and currant hedges, the Park's boundaries will be defined by trees and shrubs, creating a natural green barrier harmoniously connecting the Park with its surroundings.
-
Supporting the ecosystem and urban fauna
The Park will be characterized by a rich variety of plant species, with an emphasis on environmentally friendly plants. Numerous nectar-bearing and honey-bee-bearing plants will be there, attracting bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. Their presence supports local pollinator populations and facilitates educational activities related to insect conservation.
Insect hotels and bird nesting boxes will be placed on the trees, supporting urban fauna. Thanks to these, visitors will be able to observe various species of birds and insects up close, learning about their role in the ecosystem. The trees and shrubs will be carefully selected to have anti-smog properties, including birch and hornbeam, as well as groundcovers and climbers that bind dust and improve air quality.
The Park will be divided into two lawn zones. The former consists of mown lawns, which serve as recreational areas, ideal for picnics, playtime, or relaxation. The latter consists of unmown lawns, transformed into flower meadows, full of wildflowers and grass. They will serve an important water retention function, retaining moisture in the soil and supporting the Park's microclimate.
-
Rain gardens
The Film Park will also feature rain garden sections – specially shaped depressions that collect, filter, and irrigate vegetation. These solutions promote local water retention and prevent urban flooding.
-
Natural zones of the Park
Gazebos made of living willow will be another unique attraction of the Park. Natural structures that create shaded, cool spaces for relaxation during hot days.
A vegetable garden, accessible to the local community, will also be an integral part of the Park. Designed as a communal space, it will serve to integrate residents, promote the concept of urban gardening, and strengthen local social ties. It will feature raised beds, herb gardens, flowerbeds with edible species, and small architectural elements encouraging collaborative work, relaxation, and the exchange of experiences.
Visual appeal will not be the only advantage of the Film Park's vegetation. Its goal is to educate, protect the environment, and make the Park the green heart of the community – a place where art and nature merge into a harmonious whole.
